Origins

The S-Way replaced the Stralis in 2019 with a new cab, a heavily revised aerodynamic package and a deliberate pitch at fleet managers rather than drivers alone: on-board connectivity, remote diagnostics and uptime services were as prominent at the launch as the engines. It was named International Truck of the Year for 2020.

Design and engineering

Under the cab, the Cursor 9, 11 and 13 diesels carry over and continue in natural-gas form, the latter giving Iveco a liquefied-gas tractor with genuine long-distance range at a time when most rivals offered nothing comparable. A twelve-speed automated gearbox is standard. Built in Madrid and at Sete Lagoas in Brazil, it remains Iveco's flagship, now joined by battery-electric and hydrogen derivatives developed with outside partners.
