The M817 of 2025 broadened M-Hero's reach through the industry's most powerful alliance: Huawei's full intelligent-driving and cabin stack integrated into a somewhat more attainable luxury off-roader, range-extended for the touring distances China's new overlanding culture demanded. The partnership placed Dongfeng's military-lineage marque inside Huawei's retail gravity — the channel that had transformed AITO — targeting buyers who wanted the 917's presence with smarter software and softer pricing. Early demand validated the formula. The M817 marks the segment's second phase: Chinese ultra-off-roaders evolving from technological demonstrations into volume-am­bitious product lines, with connectivity giants as kingmakers.
