Origins

The 7 of 2020 was Qoros's final substantial launch: a handsome mid-size crossover carrying the marque's engineering standards into the premium-value space, under Baoneng ownership whose automotive ambitions were themselves unravelling. Distribution had withered; the parent's financial crisis starved operations, and production faded within two years as the brand slid toward dormancy — assets and licences entering the industry's recycling stream. The 7 deserved better circumstances it was never going to receive. As the closing entry of China's most instructive automotive failure, it completes the arc: a decade of genuinely international standards, undone by every commercial fundamental, leaving behind excellent engineers, five stars, and a syllabus. The syllabus it left behind is taught, without attribution, in every successful launch since.
