01

Origins

Named after the sudden storms that come off the Adriatic, the Nevera is what Rimac built once it had the money and the factory the Concept One earned. Production began in 2022 at Sveta Nedelja and Veliko Trgovisce, with exterior design by Adriano Mudri and a strictly limited run.

Design and engineering

The architecture is unusual even among electric hypercars. A carbon-fibre monocoque with the battery pack structurally integrated forms the centre of the car; each wheel has its own motor and single-speed reduction gear, and the software decides how much torque each one receives thousands of times a second. That allows a car of considerable mass to behave with a precision that would need active differentials and a great deal of hardware to approximate mechanically.

In production

What it is known for is straight-line performance. In 2023 Rimac took a Nevera to a proving ground and set a long list of acceleration and braking records in a single day, including a reverse-driving speed record that exists mainly because a four-motor car can do it. It has since been recognised as the fastest production electric car, having run past 400 km/h.

Legacy

Rimac's position now extends well past its own cars. Bugatti Rimac, formed in 2021, put the company in charge of one of the oldest names in the business barely a decade after its founder was rebuilding a BMW in a workshop. The Nevera is the object that made that plausible.

The facts that define it.
