Brand History

The Dacia Story

Dacia was established in 1966 in Mioveni, Romania, building Renault models under license, beginning with versions of the Renault 8 and the long-lived Renault 12-based Dacia 1300. Renault acquired the company in 1999 and repositioned it as a budget brand, a strategy that took off with the Logan sedan in 2004. Dacia has since become one of Europe's best-selling budget marques on the strength of the Sandero and Duster.

Dacia introduced the 'Dacia Link' emblem, a minimalist mark formed by a mirrored D and C joined into a single interlocking shape, accompanied by a khaki-green brand palette.
