Brand History
The HiPhi Story
HiPhi was launched in 2019 as the luxury electric vehicle brand of Chinese startup Human Horizons, founded by former SAIC executive Ding Lei. Its debut model, the HiPhi X, was a technology-laden electric SUV with elaborate multi-hinged doors, followed by the HiPhi Z grand tourer and HiPhi Y SUV. Despite critical attention, sales volumes remained low and the company halted production in early 2024 amid a funding crisis.
