Brand History
The Mini Story
The original 1959 Mini, designed by Alec Issigonis in response to the Suez fuel crisis, revolutionised the small car with its transverse engine and front-wheel drive — and won Monte Carlo three times. BMW relaunched MINI in 2001 as a premium small-car brand, keeping the character while modernising everything else.
