Origins

The 07 arrived in 2024 in the part of the Chinese market where most electrified sales happen: a mid-size five-door SUV, priced well below the 11, with the same Huawei electronics and a newer version of the assisted-driving software.

Design and engineering

Both powertrains are offered, a pure battery-electric car with one or two motors and a range-extender version using a 1.5-litre turbocharged four as a generator, which is increasingly the default configuration for buyers outside the largest cities. Build is at Chongqing alongside the rest of the range.

Where the 11 and 12 were statements of intent, the 07 is the volume model, and its reception did more for Avatr's monthly sales figures than either of its predecessors.
