Origins

The 360 of 2018 addressed a precisely Chinese calculation: the compact MPV for extended-family duty — six seats in an affordable footprint for households where grandparents complete the school run. SGMW's microvan-descended packaging expertise delivered maximum cabin from minimum cost, and the 360 slotted beneath the larger 730 in the brand's people-mover range. It sold usefully through the family-policy moment before crossovers absorbed the segment's energy. The 360 typifies Baojun's granular market reading — product planning by household structure rather than abstract segment — the approach that made SGMW the industry's most studied interpreter of interior China, one specifically-shaped gap at a time. Nobody studies a market's households more profitably than SGMW studied China's.
