Origins
The GX6 of 2014 was Gonow's most complete SUV: a seven-seat body-on-frame family machine with diesel options, styled with the era's international borrowings and priced for the provincial market. It arrived as GAC's stake turned Gonow toward commercial specialisation, and the passenger line's retirement followed. The GX6 thus closes the small marque's consumer story — a genuinely useful rural SUV from a company the consolidation absorbed mid-stride. Survivors work on across inland China, outlasting the badge's showroom presence, as honest metal usually does. Metal outlasting marketing is the oldest story in the provinces. Inland second-hand markets kept pricing it years after the showrooms forgot, the truest verdict available. GAC's engineers inherited the tooling; the farmers who bought the last examples inherited something more durable.
