Gonow Xinglang 3 China

01

Origins

The Xinglang of 2013 extended Gonow's people-mover range: a compact minivan in the microvan-plus class that Chinese small commerce still bought by the million, positioned on price against Wuling's dominance. The window was closing — segment consolidation and the SUV shift were redrawing demand — and Gonow's independent era ended soon after under GAC's control. The Xinglang's brief career typifies the final generation of provincial value products before China's market matured: adequately built, keenly priced, structurally doomed, and useful to every noodle shop that ran one until the wheels stopped. The noodle-shop fleet has no historians, which is history's loss. The cumulative freight moved by such unrecorded vans is one of the Chinese boom's genuinely unmeasured quantities.
