Almost every large van sold in Europe is a monocoque: body and structure in one. The Daily is not. Since Fiat launched it in 1978 it has been built on a separate ladder frame, which makes it heavier and slightly less car-like to drive, and in exchange lets it carry more, tow more, and accept almost any body a converter cares to bolt on.
