Origins

Iveco spent the early 1990s replacing everything at once. The EuroCargo covered medium weights, the EuroTech regional haulage, the EuroTrakker construction work, and the EuroStar of 1993 sat at the top of it: a long-distance tractor with a tall sleeper cab, replacing the TurboStar that had carried the company through the previous decade.

Design and engineering

It was a comfortable, quiet machine by the standards of its day, with the high roof and flat floor that international drivers were beginning to insist on. It gave way in 2002 to the Stralis, which merged the EuroStar and EuroTech ranges into a single line. It hauled the single market's first decade across the Alps and is remembered wherever drivers compare old cabs fondly.
