The CV7 of 2007 turned Landwind's attention homeward: a compact SUV-crossover for the domestic value market, where the brand's price positioning worked and crash-test headlines did not follow it. Jiangling-group underpinnings and conservative engineering served provincial buyers stepping into the SUV era's early mainstream. The model sold quietly through its run as the brand rebuilt around domestic realities. The CV7's modesty is the point: after Europe's lesson, Landwind's sustainable business proved local — a pattern common to the export pioneers, who retreated, re-engineered and let the next generation of Chinese products attempt the West with better armour. Retreat, executed competently, is also a strategy — and Landwind executed it for a decade.
