Origins
Mahindra spent its first decades building Jeeps under licence, and the Bolero of 2000 came directly out of that tradition. It replaced the Armada with a body-on-frame utility vehicle of resolutely rectangular design, five doors, rear-wheel drive with four-wheel drive available, and a diesel engine tuned for low-speed pulling rather than speed.
