Origins
The Haima 7 of 2010 caught the SUV wave's early swell: a compact crossover on the company's Mazda-derived platform knowledge, offering family space and soft-road pretension at value pricing as China's segment preference shifted decisively. It sold usefully through the early 2010s, buying the small manufacturer time and margins its saloons could not. Successive S5-generation SUVs would replace it as the company's volume core. The 7's role was transitional and vital: the product that proved Haima could follow the market's turn — a capability that, for China's smaller independents, repeatedly separated the absorbed from the surviving. For a company its size, reading the market correctly once a decade was survival itself. Its successors carried the company's flag further, but the 7 held the beachhead when it mattered.
