Origins
The EX6 of 2019 extended Weltmeister upward: a mid-size electric SUV adding family scale to the EX5's foundation, launched at the startup sector's funding zenith with the company still ranking among the presumed survivors. Specification stayed sensible, pricing mainstream — the house strategy intact. But the segment's economics were tightening: subsidy reform, quality incidents including battery fires, and the capital markets' cooling would strain WM Motor beyond recovery within three years. The EX6 thus marks the inflection — expansion decisions made at apparent strength, revealed by collapse as overreach. Its modest sales history reads differently in hindsight: the second product of a company already running out of future. Expansion at apparent strength is the startup graveyard's most common epitaph.
