Origins
The U7 of 2025 brought Yangwang's platform arsenal to the executive saloon: quad-motor e4 architecture and the DiSus-Z body-control system — magnetorheological suspension eliminating conventional anti-roll compromise — in a limousine-scale flagship with power beyond 1,300 horsepower, priced against the S-Class and priced like it. Range-extended and electric versions served China's luxury-saloon habits. The U7 completed the marque's segment trinity — off-roader, supercar, saloon — each a technology demonstration monetised. Its deeper function was gravitational: pulling BYD's mass-market image upward while showcasing systems that would trickle across the empire's brands, the classical halo strategy executed at Chinese development speed. Trickle-down, at BYD's cadence, means next year's mainstream carries this year's magic. The S-Class comparison, once aspirational for any Chinese saloon, arrived in the U7's press kit as a simple benchmark table.
