Brand History
The International Story
International began as the truck brand of International Harvester, which entered vehicle production in the early 1900s and built everything from light pickups and the Scout to heavy-duty trucks. When International Harvester sold its farm equipment business in the mid-1980s, the remaining truck and engine company renamed itself Navistar International, keeping International as its truck marque. Volkswagen's Traton Group acquired Navistar in 2021, and the company was renamed International Motors in 2024.
