Origins
The 7X of 2020 aimed Haima at the family MPV niche: three-row practicality, child-focused safety marketing and value pricing, targeting the second-child policy demographics that briefly promised MPV growth. The 7X-E electric derivative followed, aligning with Hainan's zero-emission mandates and the company's fleet relationships. Volumes remained survival-scale as the giants' price war compressed every niche. Haima's persistence itself became the story — the island marque outlasting predictions through contract manufacturing, provincial policy roles and its Toyota hydrogen partnership. The 7X, likely the last conventional Haima family car, closes the catalogue of an independent that never won big and never quite lost. Persistence, in China's brutal market, may be the rarest specification of all.
