Origins
The 350 of 2010 continued Roewe's technology-first positioning: a compact saloon whose headline was connectivity — an Android-based in-car system years before such integration became industry standard — atop conventional value mechanicals for China's family mainstream. The marketing was prescient; the software era it gestured toward would eventually define the market. Sales held respectable through the early 2010s as the brand built coverage beneath the joint ventures. The 350's place in the record is as early evidence of a strategy China's industry would perfect: treating the car as a connected device first, a machine second — a decade before Silicon Valley's carmakers made the same argument at ten times the price. Being right early is a familiar fate in this industry; Roewe at least was right cheaply.
